Meet Rachel.

Welcome to Ye Peddler

At Ye Peddler, we believe in the joy of giving, the beauty of everyday moments, and the warmth of Southern hospitality. What started as a handbag shop in a historic home has grown into a beloved destination for gifts, home decor, and all things happy—without ever losing our heart.

For over 50 years, Ye Peddler has been part of our small-town story. Originally founded by Mrs. Porter in 1974, the shop has always been more than just a place to buy something. It’s a place where memories are made, friendships are formed, and thoughtfulness lives on every shelf. Today, we carry on her legacy with gratitude—mixing tradition with fresh finds that make people smile.

I’m Rachel Hughes, and I’ve had the joy of stewarding this special store for the past 26 years. For me, it’s not about the product—it’s about the people. The smile when someone opens the perfect gift. The intention behind every gesture. The feeling of walking into a space that just feels like home.

That’s our mission: to offer beautiful, meaningful things that spark delight—and to welcome every customer like family.

So whether you’re looking for the perfect gift, a treat for yourself, or just a little inspiration, we hope you’ll come visit us at the little blue house around the corner.

You’re always welcome here.

With joy,
Rachel Hughes
